  Jeff McNeill, a co-founder of Market Makers, has forty years of experience in the food industry in Japan working on behalf of U.S. agricultural organizations. Jeff started his career as a product manager with Ore-Ida Foods in 1980 at its headquarters in Idaho. In 1983, he relocated to Japan to launch Ore-Ida frozen potatoes as the General Manager of Marketing for Ore-Ida Foods Japan Inc.

  In this role, Jeff helped the company achieve a 50% share of the retail frozen potato business within two years of the brand introduction. Following the founding of Market Makers Inc. in 1987, Jeff represented major U.S.

  companies such as Simplot Foods and Tyson Foods in Japan from the mid-1990’s to early 2000’s helping to significantly expand their businesses in Japan. Jeff serves on the Board of the Harvard Business School worldwide alumni association and on the Board of Councilors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Japan.

• Hisao Fukuda

  President & CEO

  Hisao Fukuda offers thorough expertise in marketing and regulatory affairs pertaining to food and agriculture with 37 years of experience advancing international agricultural interests as General Manager of Uniflex Marketing, Inc. (1988-2001) and as Senior Agricultural Specialist at U.S. Embassy Tokyo (2001-2014).

  For FAS/USDA, Hisao’s portfolio covered trade negotiations, food safety and Japan’s farm policies. He was at the forefront of the Agricultural Affairs Office at the U.S. Embassy Tokyo on highly sensitive issues including BSE and biotechnology policies. In 2014, Hisao advanced his career to become Secretary General and later COO of the Japan Foodservice Association, and led Japan’s 200-billion-dollar restaurant industry, particularly in its global initiatives.

  With his strong political network in Japan and the United States, he demonstrates sophisticated lobbying skills in resolving sensitive issues related to food and agricultural trade. Hisao joined Market Makers in May 2018 as Vice President and assumed the presidency in May 2024.
